Who Is Gary Johnson?

Gary Johnson is "the small business owner and former New Mexico governor who vetoed 750 bills, cut tax rates 14 times without raising them and left office with a $1 billion budget surplus." (Fox Business)

Gary Johnson has "been referred to as the 'most fiscally conservative Governor' in the country" while remaining popular with liberals by making decisions "based on cost-benefit analysis rather than strict ideology." (reddit)

Gary Johnson is an athlete who "rides the kind of bikes you pedal. Across entire states. And mountain ranges. Also, he doesn't merely climb mountains—he's made it to the top of four of the famous Seven Summits, the highest peaks on each continent" (GQ)

But Isn't A Vote For Johnson Just A Vote For Romney/Obama?

The fact that there are people convinced that Johnson will spoil the race for Romney and people convinced that Johnson will spoil the race for Obama should be enough to convince you that neither is necessarily true. As you can see from the state polls, Johnson pulls from both Romney and Obama. He does tend to pull more from Romney than Obama, but he also pulls from the millions of people who won't vote for either of them anyway.

Besides, Romney and Obama are basically the same on so many important issues. They both belong to corrupt parties that ignore the voices of their own delegates. They exaggerate their differences to make you think your only options are Team Red vs. Team Blue. But you have another choice.

But Isn't It Still A Wasted Vote If He Doesn't Win?

"If Gary Johnson gets 5% of the vote in 2012, the Libertarian Party has access to millions of government dollars in 2016" (postlibertarian)
